CDC approved an $82 million investment for five companies in Solar and Gold Mining. The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) in late August approved five companies with a total investment of more than $82 million to set up solar panels and gold mining businesses in Cambodia. According to the CDC, those projects have created nearly 2,000 jobs.
According to the CDC, the companies, including KITATSU SOLAR (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD, plan to set up a $ 23.4 million solar panel assembly plant. The company has an investment location in Ponhea Leu district, Kandal province, and can create 637 job opportunities for the people.
Meanwhile, the CDC also approved KHEMUNIK HOSPITAL CO., LTD, which has invested about $ 23 million, to build and operate a 150-bed hospital in Takhmao City, Kandal Province. This project will be able to create 458 job opportunities for citizens. At the same time, the CDC approved SAMANEA CO., LTD to develop Koh Svay, Koh Mtes, and Koh Kok in Kep province and create job opportunities for 60 people. The company has an investment capital of about $ 18.2 million.
Separately, LATE CHENG MINING DEVELOPMENT CO., LTD, which plans to invest in gold mining business in Sandan district, Kampong Thom province, was also approved by the CDC. The company can create 300 job opportunities for people and invest $ 13 million.
In addition to the above four companies, the CDC also approved HEN JIU GARMENT ACCESSORY CO., LTD to set up a garment and yarn accessories factory with an investment location in Phnom Penh’s Kambol district. The company has invested about $ 5.1 million and created 463 jobs.
From January to May, there are 10 companies doing business in the production and installation of solar panels in Cambodia. This is according to the report of the Ministry of Commerce.
Regarding the gold mining business, the Ministry of Mines and Energy has given licenses to eight companies to explore and open “gold mining” business sites and refineries in Cambodia, those companies from India and China … etc. This was stated by Mr. Ing Depola, Director General of the General Department of Mineral Resources of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, at a press conference on “5 years achievements of the Ministry of Mines and Energy” on August 9.
