Domestic Woman Entrepreneur is Optimistic about the investment potential in Sihanoukville. The local woman entrepreneur, Keo Mom, is president of Ly Ly Foods, one of the largest food processing producers in Cambodia. Recently, she has invested millions of dollars to invest in the Westport Special Economic Zone project, which has attracted attention.

Ms. Keo Mom said that the investment in the construction of the Sihanouk Special Economic Zone is to meet the domestic and foreign investment needs of Sihanoukville. She is optimistic about the investment potential of Sihanoukville in terms of sea, land, and air.

Currently, she plans to invest millions of dollars in the construction of the Westport Gan Kampong Sila Special Economic Zone project, while also providing more employment opportunities for locals. The Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone gaining momentum, and the trade volume of Chinese-funded enterprises exceeds 1.3 billion US dollars according to the “Khmer Times” report on July 19, Cambodia’s Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone (SSEZ), invested by Chinese-funded enterprises, will reach 1.37 billion US dollars in import and export trade in the first half of 2022, a year-on-year increase of 35%.

The report pointed out that in the face of the problems caused by the new crown epidemic, the Westport Special Economic Zone strictly and meticulously implemented epidemic prevention measures to promote the development of the special zone and maintain its growth momentum. The growth of trade in the special zone in the first half of this year reflects the resilience of regional development and makes new contributions to regional economic and social development.

Sihanoukville is a special economic zone located in the southwest of the coastal province of Sihanoukville. It is the largest industrial zone in Cambodia in terms of scale and frequent transactions.

The Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone provides more jobs for workers and is also a model of win-win cooperation for foreign direct investment into Cambodia. In addition, the industrial zone has given Cambodia great support for exports during and after the epidemic. Furthermore, it has played a pivotal role in promoting Cambodia’s economic development in the post-epidemic.
