A New Form of Smoke’s Spreading in Society Raising a Concern in Education in Cambodia. After the importation of SISHA and E-Cigarette, which has been revived in society, especially recently, it has been observed that young people are using this banned product, which is alarming. Ordered the police force to cooperate with all relevant local authorities to continue research leading to business crackdowns. In connection with this case, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports has strictly prohibited the presence of those dangerous products occurring in educational institutions.

A few years ago, these banned products, which made young men and women, the successors of bamboo, to be obsessed, drop out of school, work and could lead to other serious problems in the society, worrying that the competent forces and authorities. Involved in a series of crackdowns, no longer used on a large scale and openly. But lately, both products seem to be reviving, which is one of the most dangerous consequences for the next generation of Cambodians.

In February 2021, the Ministry issued a directive prohibiting public and private educational institutions from partnering with the tobacco industry for sponsorship or signing a memorandum of understanding with the tobacco industry. Or an exhibition that is a program of the tobacco industry and must participate in eliminating the use of tobacco products in all its forms. In addition, the absence of illegal drugs and alcohol in educational institutions contributes to improving individual health, quality of education, and quality of life.

In case of occurrence in educational institutions, the management committee of educational institutions shall take administrative action. If necessary, can cooperate with the 25 Departments of Education, Youth and Sports, the capital of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. Illegal drugs and alcohol can endanger the health and lives of students and stakeholders. The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports has been working with all stakeholders to raise awareness of the effects of illicit drug and alcohol use.

Experts believe that SISHA and E-Cigarette are new types of drugs that are distracting young Cambodians, who are the successors of bamboo, to be obsessed, drop out of school, and work, and can lead to other serious problems in society. Worried.

Public health experts say that SISHA and E-Cigarettes are not smoking cessation products as some people claim, but they are very harmful to health. Consumption of SISHA and E-Cigarettes is much more toxic than regular cigarettes. If we smoke one cigarette a day, we can smoke only a few cigarettes or a pack, but if we smoke SISHA and E-Cigarette, sometimes at a party we smoke it all the time. According to the study, smoking SISHA and E-Cigarette for one hour is equivalent to smoking 100 to 200 times, which means that it has more serious side effects than regular smoking.

In terms of toxicity, SISHA and E-Cigarette smokers received up to nine times as much carbon dioxide and 1.7 times as much nicotine per cigarette as regular smokers. Due to the high nicotine content of SISHA and E-Cigarette smoking, smokers continue to use it until it is easy to quit.

The General Commission of the National Police has ordered the police force to cooperate with all relevant local authorities to continue research to crack down on the business and import of SISHA and E-Cigarette products, which seem to be reviving in society, especially recently. It is worrying to see young people using this banned product.

Although SISI and E-Cigarette products do not contain the drugs listed in the Annex to the Drug Control Act, they do contain high levels of synthetic nicotine, which causes more serious health effects than cigarettes. At the same time, the device, behavior, and how to use SISHIA and E-Cigarette are simple and easy to stimulate and encourage the desire to use and can lead to the use of other types of illegal drugs mixed with the product. The above may make it difficult for the authorities to take action if they distribute and use illegal drugs with the business of this product.

According to some reports, the use (smoking) of SISHA and E-Cigarette products, especially in Phnom Penh and some provincial capitals, is making some people want to try and use, which has caused this problem. To have a lot of reactions and expressions of dissatisfaction from the general population, especially the guardians of the youth, so the authorities and relevant authorities will work together to crack down on this crime, as they did a few years ago.

In addition, the Anti-Drug Department on June 22, 2022, issued a press release regarding the business and use of e-cigarettes. According to the press release, some social media sites have recently published information related to the business and use of e-cigarettes in Phnom Penh. The Anti-Drug Department would like to thank some social media for helping to disseminate information to the public, especially to the Anti-Drug Department unit. Immediately after receiving the above information, the Anti-Drug Department assigned a specialized force to search the location where the sale and purchase of e-cigarettes (E-Cigarette) when the police went to search professionally were not found. There is no activism because the subject has seen the news spread on social media.

Anti-Drug Department, thank you for publishing. But if you are willing to participate in the prevention of crime in society, especially real drug crimes, please cooperate to provide confidential information first so that we can easily use professional measures by secretly investigating, do not rush to publish to the public.
