The Bilateral Trade between Cambodia and Thailand has Increased

[Cambodia Headline Comprehensive Report] After the respite of epidemic prevention restrictions, the bilateral trade volume between Cambodia and Thailand has increased significantly this year!

According to the latest report of the General Administration of Customs of Cambodia, in the first seven months of this year, the bilateral trade volume between Cambodia and Thailand reached US$278,000, a year-on-year increase of 26.46%.

The report pointed out that Cambodia’s exports to Thailand amounted to about US$559 million, a year-on-year increase of 38.36%, and the total value of imports from Thailand was US$2.22 billion, an increase of 23.85%.

Most of Cambodia’s exports to Thailand are agricultural products, while Cambodia’s imports from Thailand include automobiles, fuel, construction materials, agricultural fertilizers, food, and cosmetics.

Although the above data shows that Cambodia’s trade with Thailand has grown well during this period, from the perspective of the balance of trade between the two countries, Cambodia’s trade deficit with Thailand has reached 1.66 billion US dollars.

In brief, Thailand is Cambodia’s fourth largest trading partner. In the first seven months of this year, bilateral trade accounted for 22.2% of the total trade volume. China ranked first ($6.97 billion) and the United States ranked second ($5.89 billion). , Vietnam came in third ($3.76 billion).
