The Phnom Penh Municipal Government recently announced that it will strictly investigate and crack down on the problem of illegal possession of arms after the strict investigation into the illegal possession of guns in Sihanoukville. On the afternoon of July 14, the Phnom Penh Municipal Government held a command center meeting. At the meeting, Phnom Penh Mayor urged the 14 district heads and law enforcement officers to work together to actively maintain the safety of the people and earnestly fulfill the obligations and responsibilities of government departments and troops to ensure the safety of the people.

At the meeting, the Mayor praised the military and police for cracking down on many cases of bad juveniles in recent days. He pointed out that most of these delinquent teenagers were students, and asked the district government department to cooperate with the Phnom Penh Municipal Education Bureau to strictly prohibit students from skipping classes.

Two men in Phnom Penh encountered unknown attacks while parking and shopping. Recently, there have been frequent security problems in Phnom Penh. Compatriots in Cambodia must pay attention to safety when traveling. According to Cambodian media reports, at around 9 o’clock last night, two men were “attacked” with helmets on the road opposite a residential area in Viwang Sub-district, Makara District, Phnom Penh City, causing one man to be seriously injured.

On-site news pointed out that before the incident, two men were seen riding a black motorcycle through the residential area and stopped to buy food. Suddenly, three men with helmets appeared and beat the two men who were parking with their helmets. One of them suffered head injuries and fainted on the spot. The other man ran away.

After the incident, the three suspects also fled. It is understood that the injured person is a 24-year-old man who lives near the scene of the incident. It is not clear whether this malicious beating incident is related to personal grievances, but it is worth noting that people must be alert when traveling to prevent sudden attacks by unknown people.
